No.  She would have a knife hidden somewhere among her leaves, but it's more of a tool or emergency weapon.  Prefers to use magic.

I promise to have further equipment and backstory info soon.  Like tonight.

EDIT: ooh so there are pages!  I guess it's every 30 posts lol

Tangentially related:  Would this be an okay flaw?

Lover, Not a Fighter (have we used that name before? 🤔):  Physical attacks lose R damage from strength bonus (cap STR)

Very important, hard-hitting question:  can the tambourines skill include just basic hand drums also?  its basically a tambourine with less steps

after nearly two hours of research into this controversial development, it has been granted on a trial basis.  beware lest the op-ness of said instrument cause jealousy and division amongst the team

Thank you, benevolent leader.  I will not abuse this boon.

actual important question:   What do I eat?  Do Lesh photosynthesize?  Are they carnivores/insectivores?  Both?

I like the concept of both, like I can photosynthesize for 95% of it, but you can't photosynthesize minerals, gotta get some occasional protein to supplement what I would be getting through roots normally.  In desperation I could eat straight dirt to survive, but it'd be like a human eating tree bark - wouldn't want to do it long-term.

Should I have something like K: Witchcraft or does Arcana cover it?  Would having something like Ritual Magic or K: Ritual be helpful or does that get covered by Arcana/Witchcraft?

Arcana + Spirits + Religion = a lot of bandwidth for both gtg coverage and the ability to add some of your other examples if they should become needed

Asterilla Vernonia can’t remember her parents’ faces. Eaten by squirrels when she was barely three, her memories of them are little more than the smell of their petals, the rustle of their leaves, and the safety of their embrace. Her first clear memory is of being lost and terrified in the woods when an ancient yet beautiful Belaw wearing a wide-brimmed, pointed vermilion hat found her, her coral-like carapace festooned with dozens of frilly fernlike appendages that would move and sway seemingly of their own accord, then retract into hiding almost faster than the eye could see, vanished inside a short rocky tube. Grandmother Fern was a benevolent old witch, and would never have left a helpless child alone in the woods in any case, but she immediately sensed a kinship with poor Aster, and decided to adopt her as her foster daughter. The source of that kinship became quickly apparent, as little Aster began showing signs of latent witch ability within days, and suddenly Fern had not only a daughter, but an apprentice to teach.

Aster took to the lessons like a flower to sunlight, and readily absorbed as much of Grandma Fern’s vast wisdom as her young mind could process, showing an impressive natural affinity for spirits and for the violin. Indeed, she would often convince handy local spirits to do her chores for her while she pursued one of myriad half-finished projects or simply lazed about in the woods playing on the pochette Grandma Fern had bought her so that she could accompany her cello playing. Aster was always crafting something, composing something, exploring somewhere. Notebooks filled with sketches and songs, small clay figurines, and various cool rocks littered her living spaces at all times, like dropped petals.

However comfortable she might have been around spirits, being around other people was another matter. Always an anxious child, and shy, she would often hide when clients would come to call on the witch’s services. By the time Aster was 15, Fern decided it was past time for her to spend more time with her peers and the world outside their forest. Despite Aster’s protests and weeping, Fern held strong and sent her to nearby(?) Dark Sun University, though it broke her heart - she truly believed it would be for the best.

Aster had a very hard time for a few months, but thankfully she was personable enough to make a few friends before long, despite her extreme anxiety. Her nervousness tended to carry with it an endearing earnestness, and coupled with her natural kindness often inspired a sort of protective loyalty in others. She did not long want for friends.

By her second year, Aster was quite happy and settled in, proving Fern’s choice to be for the best. Aster could even be fun when she felt relaxed, and would often compose and play songs on her pochette for her friends, with her spider familiar Portia playing tambourine as accompaniment.

Now in her fifth year, Aster is an adept witch and plans to found a new settlement with her friends, both as part of their group thesis project, and because it sounds like fun!

Heard, kinda doing it more because it makes sense than for the xp.  Only gonna put one point into it, and maybe there can be a cool moment where I have to overcome that fear in the future and I could spend the experience to fix it?

I believe that I'm seeing I would need 2 points in Familiar in order for Portia's stats to equal the monkey's?  Is that correct?  I don't want it to be lol, but I'm trying to be fair

I think I'd like to take Mass Healing as my stance, but being able to Grasp multiple targets also seems fantastic, so undecided still.  How does one switch stances?  like how long does it take? move action?  I looked and couldn't really find the answer.
