Subject: Senior Thesis: Spirits, Hierarchy, and Vital Goods
My associates, Arthure, Asterilla, Hyla, Jayne, Valorian, and I have come to an agreement on our project, to settle a new outpost in the world using our combined knowledge, skills, and majors. Arthure is trying to prove the value of necromancy. Asterilla parallels mine in bringing spirits and people together, but diverges from there. Hyla wants to prove the benefits of physical activity at a young age later in life. Jayne would like to progress farming and agricultural techniques and practices. Valorian is .
Ooc: will edit once everyone's come up with their thesis.
Intermediate entry:
In the near week since we set out we traveled to Varangia proper, acquired supplies for the project, secured some funding from a couple sources, and now are back at the university looking for more backers.
Intermittent entry 2:
Bugs are fucking huge out here.
Now our journey begins in earnest. Let's just hope I get to the next Log.
Log Entry 2
It has only been a few weeks since we set off, and we have already seen and experienced a vast array of things.
Some form of elemental, water, I believe, has been following us around and only coming out to mimic our actions every so often. I do not have enough data yet for a hypothesis, but hopefully I will soon. It seems to be a wonderfully curious creature, one I have sort of made friends with. As much as one can be in these circumstances.
We came across one of the most extraordinary creatures I've ever seen, a Honey Mammoth! These creatures can be very docile, if you know how to approach them properly, and their size can be used to our advantage with clearing trees. I believe Locking it in in my Spirit Lock will benefit us tremendously in the future. Especially, as stated before, with clearing trees in this jungle.
We managed to "save" Val from death from a spirit T Rex. that grabbed him by the head. It seems that this particular kind of spirit is extremely weak to any magic, and near instantaneously cracks into oblivion with any attack from it. So far I have seen no ill effects from Val dieing, but only time and observation will tell.
On the subject of death, and on a somewhat personal note, we lost Talas' life to a raptor attack. Losing any member is always tough, but i was quite enamored with her. Her free spirit, charisma, and charm went well with her beauty. Arthure has made use of her corpse, only after we got the distinct impression she was happy and tranquil with her death and afterlife.
Now we Trek onward.
Log Entry #3:
I died. At least temporarily. After a raptor tore me apart, our healer, Aster, was able to heal me up within seconds of death. I, like my obversations of Val indicate, am fortunate to have no ill effects of dieing. Both dealt physical damage, both healed within seconds of death. I am starting to hypothesize that the relative speed of the revival may play an important part in the later effects of dieing and reviving. I will continue self and Val observations for further data.
We uncovered a beach littered with buried dead, and Arthure proceeded to have his skeletons excavate them. Now within our ranks, as well as a Pirate Ghost named Zoltan who I believe is in some form of temporal loop, or has alzhiemers/dementia, because he keeps forgetting hes met/talked to people and bringing up the subject of his treasure almost solely as if we've just met.
We also came across a perhaps evil elemental of sorts that would entrance people and then make copies of them out of water. The entranced people would stay there until desecation if not helped, including the man we saved from said elemental.
The wilds are just that, WILD.
However, we believe we may have found our outposts location!
