Welcome to Space..TOO!! An experimental campaign in dynamic user interface, flexible scheduling, and longform world building.
Once upon a time I read a tale of a DM that ran two separate groups in the same world for a year, and then their end battle was against each other. I have no plans to deliberately manage two groups so that they end up at conflicting goals. But beyond that, the idea intrigued me. Multiple players in the same world hearing rumors of each others' exploits. Rotating mercenaries working with whomever is available to help with the mission at hand. A hugely complex metaplot built one string at a time by the threads of each player. The exact details of what this might look like will depend on player interest and time constraints, but here's a bit of what I expect:
1) A collection of random adventures that play more like one-shots than a campaign, at least at first. The major exception being, as long as you want to keep playing the same character, and they survive, you can.
2) A largely hidden metaplot that will be nearly impossible to distinguish from rumor.
3) An open forum for character interactions during long gaps between play sessions, aided in game by the technology to do so realistically.
So how does this look IRL?
All Scheduling will be decided IN THIS THREAD. If interest is high I'm looking at a lot of people to organize: 6 in Wed group, 8 known PUGs, plus however many bar randos I've talked to in a given week. We aren't juggling communication methods to suit the individual players. Final scheduling will only be submitted through this thread. Beyond that it should be pretty straight forward.
In the below posts I have both an Open Calendar for dates as well as a Job Board for in game missions available. The Job Board will become more obsolete as the game progresses, but especially early on most of your characters won't know enough about the solar system to have their own access.
You can choose a date or job or both. For this first run of April, each player will only be in one final session (although you can still indicate multiple dates if you are flexible)

Cool. that's one of the worst times all week for me lol, but we can get one scheduled there for a specific date. Once we got a 2nd person we'll pick one that will work for all 3 of us, and then finding a 4th should be easy once that's in place.
while new players are not required to do any prep work, established players should be prebuilding a character on here
