A job well done is it's own reward grandpa always said. Given my culture reveres its elders this formed the base of their philosophy moving froward.
Background significant events
Lost their family while working as day laborer in another far away country. Would send that money home regularly. Now that they have gone he seeks (but will never find through this ) atonement/ensuring someone benefits (more so that it isn't going to waste as he considers his own needs as irrelevant in so much as he can continue to endeavor) from his action otherwise he may be forced to deal with the idea that maybe he didn't need to be away and laboring for his family. Maybe if he was there it would have gone differently.

if he doesn't know how to do it himself (mainLaborskill? ), he usually knows (knowledge labor ) or can figure out what needs done (skill roll your sleeves up, int based allows figuring out as you go but allows for greate chance of fucking things up.)

The skill and action cannot change, the character must follow through with the plan if it's still possible. If it's not possible to do anymore ( someone teleported the McGuffin I was planning on cutting ) this round spent in preparation is a 'wasted' action however the character may make a move action so long as it's just to relocate themselves.Usable equal to the amount of ranks per day
DayJobsGoneBy - 3 - By being able to watch others or have it explicitly explained over an hour allows the character to until the next rest slot a skill in the limited context it was presented. The character is considered proficient for the limited scope which the skill is being used. IE: I can help make this ditch load bearing but cant go and make other load bearing things. It's specific to the intended use. The character is only able to effectively contribute half the ranks in this skill divided by two rounded down. 3 ranks would allow someone to effectively fill in a role they were otherwise unfamiliar with but only at an effective rank of 1. So maybe I dont know brick laying but I can be shown or imitate effectively enough to be able to roll where otherwise it would have required actually having the skill.
Odelay - 1 - Allows executing mundane tasks quicker than normal. Maybe it takes half the time to clean,fix,build or organize something it would have otherwise. Typically this is a fractional amount of time depending on the skill check, conditions and activity purely determined by DM fiat.
OneForAll - 3 - +ranks to attacks for up to ranks people lasting ranks rounds. Flavor: Supporting people in a subtle manner to encourage more daring maneuvers combined with unit cohesion.
AntHaul - 2 - When laboring and determining how much may be carried the character's strength is considered to be + ranks higher. Knowledge Capped
ShiftMeal - 2 - Can make a reasonable sustaining if questionable meal with on hand ingredients to fortify the team for a period of exertion.
Reduces the number of checks required for grueling activity to avoid shitty things, not work towards the goal itself. For instance: trying to haul a rowboat over a sandbar we start by eating a ShiftMeal, and everyone who partook rolls ranks less times for adverse situational conditions such as a driving rain or a quick current or a morass.
