This is a Robbie style placeholder here for this thread, but Endival already started conversing with Umaru the Yeti. I realized daryl won't be there for session one so we jokingly started talking in character. It turned out well and was perfect for introductory conversation. Ill type it up here later today!!

Good call.  With the month of us being trapped on the island, we should know each other better than...  well certainly better than i know any of your characters now ROFL

For those not connected elsewhere, here's the visual you see of the posse:

Two white-furred oddities swarmed with smaller animals.  The taller one (Daryl) <looks how gingerprime describes>

The shorter one, at just over 4", is an illustrious moogle!!  .

Kumo has no equipment, for nature provides, although he does keep a massive war club around in case others get out of line.  The kanabo pic should be attached here (?)

Nor are they alone!!  A small golden-haired monkey (Blaze) stands as if sapient itself.  An insulting grey parrot (Thor) circles above them.  An energetic chipmunk (Luna) bounds back and forth among the group.  And somewhere shady a stone-colored gecko (GiGi) is stuck to something, sleeping until dark.

*KEOW*

*wshhh**woosh**slssh slssh*

*KOW-KOW-KOW*

Endivals eyes crack open, skin slowly separating from skin as the smattered little remnants of sand from the rock caked on his face crumble apart and descend.

Through haze and clouded irises a shape forms. A corpse, being slowly pecked at by a seagull.

With excruciating effort, Endival locates a pebble, "..g*chhchh*..get..off..him...", and slings it with little force in the general direction of the scene.

*Keow*

*fllpppp fllp flp*

"...good.."

Endival painstakingly presses his hands and knees into the cold, hard, wet rock and raises himself up with great effort.

*grr*

*rstle rstle*

To his left, movement and the slight rustling of a relatively tall, furry creature catches his attention.

Endival: "Ar*nnn khuh khuh khuh* are you alright? Can you speak?"

Umaro: *Sits bolt upright* "Boss? Boss!" *searching frantically for Kumo* *doesn't see him immediately around, turns to you* "Where boss? Where we? Who you? Boss! Boooosss!?"

E: "It's okay, my fellow seafarer. If he survived he is within our sight *hinting at the size of the rock*. Though the chances are low from the looks of the number of bodies here. What does your master look like?" Takes off his robes and starts wringing them out then hanging them up to dry. The glowing blue magic "veins" on his arms showing through his other clothing much more so than his robe.

U: "He moogle."

E: "As I am not sure what that is, I would have to guess that you are looking for that little fellow over there." Nods towards the only thing he doesnt recognize, a winged creature with an antenna on its head. "He appears to be breathing."

U: "Boss!!" *checks him* "oh he sleepy." laughs and turns to you, "where boat?"

E: "That leviathan we saw before we ended up here sunk it, it seems your memory may be a bit fuzzy. Maybe you should get some sleep after we discuss the necessities." "What is your name, sir?"

U: "Umaro." he pounds his chest once with a grunt.

E: Bows his head slightly "An honour to meet you my good sir. I am Dr. Endival Suldine, Scholar of Living Magics, and graduate of Iildar Magical Academy." "May i ask your masters name?"

U: "Boss Kumo. Boss sleeping, but later, Boss know what do. You nice. Maybe you know what do too. This strange place. Me knew better than trust boat. Never trust boat. No more."

E: "Kumo, you say. Well then, Umaro, it is a pleasure to make your aquintaince. You appear to be a bit of a gentle giant yourself, speaking of who is nice. Boats can be trusted, however, I understand your apprehension given these dire circumstances we *cough* seem to find ourselves in. For now, I think we should gather our surroundings and take stock of where we are, what we have, and who we have with us. It seems none of the other survivors have awoken yet. So for now we can look around, which *looks around* shouldn't take very long given the petite nature of this rock. We should start a fire to warm up, dry off, cook, and send signals for rescue. We can use the wood from those crates to build the fire. Once that is done we can go from there."

E: "I will try and keep your master alive until you wake back up once you go to sleep to rest off that head wound."

U: "Boss know what to do, you help him, Good, Me thank you."

E: "Yes, good boss, me help, you thank, we friends."

U: "My words bad. No tease me!

E: "Never. Me linguistics student. Me try learn speech of others. Easier talk with them. Quicker talk is good."

U: "Ohhhh. You nice. But you talk better with your words. Me understand good, not talk good. But these not my words. Yeti words different. Many louder. Me can show you some? *chewbacca sound* "That mean hello big friend!"

E: "Oh yes, I would be much....pleased. well im sure with practice I will get the pronunciation correct", pausing during the chewbacca sound.

U: "You try!"

E: Its a mix of a cat with a hairball and a gutteral pig snarl, ending with him coughing a bit.

U: *burst out in great gales of laughter* "You say a funny thing! You say "Hello small tree", yeti say this as joke if you have small penis! " *he explains between laughs*

E: *jots that down in a handmade, leather-bound scrap notebook that i need to add to my inventory since he has many points in research* *you hear him repeating parts of the pronunciation to himself as he writes*

U: "Me not good with books. Books break easy."

E: "Yes, well then. It seems we have some work to do on my Yeti. Oh, books are a fascination. They are tremendous and inspiring and ever useful. Loaded with knowledge, and wisdom, and anecdotes, filled to the brim with story and imagination! You must learn to be delicate with them, as they are with their knowledge."

U: "Me carve bone! *shoves his club in your face eagerly, it's covered in intricate carvings of like moose and trees and stuff*

E: "See, you can be delicate when you try. These carvings require a delicate touch inherently."

U: "Me fish." *he shrugs and brandishes his club, then frowns at it* "me make spear, then fish." No idea it that's possible, but he's searching for a suitable stick or preferably bone to make a spear, so that's gonna be a Robbie question I guess

As Endival waits for the other people to awaken, he starts to take stock of the island. What's on it, how big, nature, what can we see in the ocean and on the horizon, body count, items from those bodies, food, shelter possibilities, etc.

"Excuse me, Umaro, its seems we may have quite a lot of time here before the others awaken. It would be good to get to know eachother and our abilities so we can properly work together to survive."

Luna would be the first to wake up.  The energetic chipmunk would bounce back and forth between the yeti and Kumo at first.  Then she would pounce on Blaze, the golden-haired capuchin monkey, and start a long shrill squeak until the monkey awoke.  Blaze would, in turn, go to the water and collect some moss for Kumo.  Kumo would lazily chew on the moss for a bit before sitting upright.

"Boats aren't to blame here," Kumo would address the yeti first.  "Some serpent of the sea or other monstrosity destroyed the ship.  I think I heard a sailor call the beast a lediarfan?"

He would turn to the elf next.  "Unburnt wood could be a lot of things.  A signal fire when we see other travelers, shelter from the sun; it could even be a boat.  Might want to keep more wood unburnt than burnt for the time being."

Kumo would lay back down while his parrot Thor would take a twenty minute flight around the area.  Kumo would seem to receive the information before the parrot even spoke, but Thor wouldn't hesitate to squawk at the rest of survivors.

"No land in sight!!  No land in sight!!  SCREEE!!  You bilge-lickers are fucked now!!  Carp-bait!!  Carp-bait!!"

"Ah so you've been awake this whole time, Sir Kumo. Why did you not respond earlier when Umaro repeatedly said boss? Seems odd, no?"

"Well then, mister Kumo, what are your abilities since you've been listening this whole time? As you heard earlier, it would be good for us to know eachother and our strengths and weaknesses so as to survive this ordeal."

"Ahh I see it now, you are only half-elf, but also half-human.  Your reactions confused me at first.

"Survival is not determined by careful planning, or else all of nature would have been destroyed long ago!!  No survival is the result of faith.  I'll make you a bet.  50 cherries that all of us survive this that freely choose to!

"But as to our tribal role, we've usually been a scout or lookout.  And we'll definitely keep some eyes out in case that lediarfan returns."

"An astute observation, Sir. I am in fact a half Elf half human (was thinking of half gnome half elf or something weird when making him, but my want for his appearance to be a certain way won out). Quite proud of it as well. My father is an elf, mother a human, prestigious scholars and professors both. At times my human guided mind does tend to take over when in dire circumstances. However, the elven intuition and keen senses are still active subconsciously in those moments. One cannot deny one's own nature after all. I would never bet against the lives of anyone, my good sir, I apologize if that offends you. In this case, I would much rather have your bet on outcome occur, anyway, so again, apologies, but I would not like to take you up on that wager. If you are a gambling man, though, we can place some wagers to pass the time, and to add a little more spice to this situation, ahahahahaaha.

As far as survival goes, i prefer to hedge my bets, if you will, and use faith and planning in cohesion. I respect your way of life, as many creatures feel the same way, and everyone is entitled to their beliefs."

* Alex groans as she wakes up and takes in her surroundings...

"Well... It Could Be Worse.." she mutters to herself.

She takes in the group around her recognizing them in passing from the ship. She stands up and places a hand in her cutlass. Not threatening,  just merely being ready.

" Fucking Leviathan. The caption should've known they'd be more active this close to rainy  season. Ah well." She looks around the small island" Well fuck."

Looking over to the group

" Alright. Well if we work together and we are lucky we should survive this. I believe we are close to a well used shipping lane, but as rainy season approaches, less and less ships will be out there.

Names Alexandra Katsonis. You can call me Alex if you  prefer"

"Well, Miss Alex, it is a pleasure to meet you, albeit not under the greatest circumstances. I am relieved that you survived and have awoken, I fear most of the crew and passengers have perished to the sea. I am Dr Endival Suldine, Scholar and graduate of Iildar Magical Academy. The small furry creature is Kumo, and the big furry creature is Umaro. Kumo is in some way Umaros master, but im unsure the working relationship as of yet. I have noticed that bronze creature breathing, and that pile of a creature over there does seem to be alive, however I am unsure what it is. We have started a small fire if you are cold, as for food i cannot seem to locate anything on this rock, currently, for us to consume. I do have a small ration of frozen peanut butter covered in chocolate, but some assembly is required. My alchemical research has led me to great, and small discoveries, but my favorite by far are these delicacies.

We have not found much else of use i am afraid, as this rock seems to be just that, a simple rock with a bit of moss."

Kumo, happily licking some of the moss on said rocks, would smile encouragingly.

You would also give off the kind of charismatic pirate captain vibes that Thor would immediately gravitate towards you.  Landing on your shoulder, if you let him, and talking smack on your behalf.

" Aye a learned man huh? Could be useful to have around, especially  since you are one of those magic types"

She looks at the Moogle licking the moss.

" That any good?  Edible for uh, people not like you?"

She watched the parrot land on her shoulder and she scratches his neck" Ay fella, whats your name? Never been one for cliches before but i could start"

Looking back at the half-elf" But sure toss me some of that peanut butter of yours. Best to check the others. If they are too injured and you two dont know any medicine or healing magic, best to put them out now while they sleep peacefully" she says rather matter of fact.

Wisps his hand around in the air, fluidly flicking his wrist as he mixes ingredients in flasks.

"One frozen Suldine cube for you." as a perfect cube of frozen peanut butter covered in chocolate, sitting in a doily paper, gently lands in your open hand.

Endival sits in the room, waking up before everyone else to have some time to perfect his peanut alchemy skills. He concentrates solely on improving quantity and quality of the peanuts he needs to create in order to make money off this endeavor.

"This city is corrupt and expensive," Kumo would shake his head.  "And this bounty board is just too low payouts; hard to make rent there.  But a few options seem on board.
"We still got info on a bunch of the bounties.  We could easily explore town better, since we're stuck here for a couple months, and just keep our eyes open for these while we are at it.  Since we just got here it makes sense to do this, but our refugee stipend isn't going to last more than another two days at our current rate.  So staying here has got some risks.
"Also Alexandra here got some information on a supposed smuggler of illegal goods camping out in the water.  It sounds like a better opportunity than most, but it is not without risk.  Chances are we are going to be pissing off at least one, if not multiple parties, of completely unknown strength to retaliate.
"I still think our best opportunity so far is to go out de-jawing some of these '4-manes' now that we healthy.  We can go out and explore the island better, which could be very valuable information.  We'll be living off the land, so the rewards will be all profit nor will we starve out in two days.  It's also a job with a lot of upside in terms of future development, both socially and financially.
"Any other options folks have considered?"

"Along those lines, I found out that to the northeast of Parigrin is the highest concentration of foremaine. Logically speaking the queen or queens should be near there for the most protection. I am no opposed to hunting foremaine and other bounties while exploring and living off the land. In my free time I can make peanuts and sell them exclusively to that chocolate shop for a worthwhile return. This should help us supplement our funds in between bounties.

I have never been one for breaking the law or getting involved with ne'r'do'wells, miscreants, and raspcallions. I dont plan on starting now, either. If you guys feel you must lower your selves to such levels, I will not stop you, however, I will not partake. Even in the "best of circumstances " this would be risky, and we are nowhere near those circumstances from what you've just said. You have no knowledge of who is involved in guarding, transporting, purchasing or selling this "score", let alone what they are capable OR more importantly, willing to do to keep their cargo safe and out of the hands of you or the authorities. Based off Alex's appearance, skill set, and the bit I know about her, she should see the inherent, unnecessary, risk that this holds."

"We only got a couple things that need done in town I think.  Drop off our goods, buy Vincentoo a real weapon, maybe do some trading?

What might folks want to do after?  I'm down to explore more wilderness of the island; see if we can find better spots for hunting and gathering.

Or heading back to Angkor for another hootenanny is always on the table."

😀

I will require a bit of time to visit Bradys to drop of peanuts and discuss further business.

Im Not against finding "better spots" for hunting, however I do feel that the previous hunting spots weren't lacking in potential, we shouldn't write them off as bad hunting grounds. *side glances at Umaro*

What a rolling sea of circumstance!!  First we find these slavers with magical cages and elite guards, but then the Ringmaster she don't seem nearly as bad as the slave driver.

Is anyone still interested in overthrowing her after meeting her?  Or are we willing to write her off as just having a shady contact?  It sounds like that slimy centaur scuttled off, so finding his greedy asses again might not be easy.

But I'm down for most options here.

We could also go get our new animals registered, see how hard that project is going to be for when we get bigger friends.

We should definitely  get our pets registered. Good to see how the process works for when we get the elephant.

Hey Guys, we haven't found any sign of the goblin cannibals yet.  Instead we ran into some steward that recommended we stop by this place.

Gestures to the dilapidated and abandoned Estate around them.  (the copse at the end of the road we had been following)

Supposedly he might know more of the area but...  that was before we saw how creepy this place is.  The steward seemed more normal....

We've been keeping a low profile though.  The local bandits are numerous, well armed and armored, persistent, and on horseback.
