I love that moment after all the fantasy drafts finish, when I kinda look over which teams I successfully drafted and which ones I just kinda landed in awkwardly, and realize.  Wow.  I got a lot of people from this team, looks like I'm cheering for them this year!!  No Jacksonville this year rofl, but here's my most drafted teams:

Colts - Didn't plan it, but I'm a Colts-man again this year.  Alec Pierce in all 3 leagues, Tyler Warren in 2, as well as single shares in Josh Downs and JT.  I don't know their fight song but maybe I should at this point, it's been a few years in a row on them now :D
Seahawks - Jadarian Price in all 3 leagues was not an accident.  Neither was getting Rashid Shaheed in 2 (and in the 10person league he's sitting there on waivers... and I'm just staring like... he's not going to skyrocket week 1 probably...).  Only ended up with 1 share of Seahawks D# though :(
Bengals - Ja'Marr Chase in 2 leagues was more an accident of draft order than anything else, but I also got 2/3 Cinci's kicker!!
Showing a few honorable mentions that are close equivalents.  Chargers (2 Hampton, 1 Herbert), Jets (2 Breece), and GB (no high end drafts picks but 5 low ones)

Should be a fun year!!

]]> MtG & Other Games Samadhi https://j8gaming.com/mtgandothergames/football/#post-567 RE: FOOTBALL https://j8gaming.com/mtgandothergames/football/#post-338 Fri, 24 Jul 2026 02:50:08 +0000 I've always been a fan of the natural football environments, including grassfields, and would have specifically supported any such convo about grassfields.  However, despite being a supporter, I almost still think I underestimated how much of a difference getting tackled on thinly veiled cement really is.  Listened to Kittle talking about it the other day was motivating... so now I'm immediately measuring it in terms of potential fantasy output.  I've already heavily leaned into schedule analysis as one of the more reliable mechanisms of prediction.  While analyzing every match was too pedantic, adding a +1 bonus to teams who will be playing homegames on grass?  That's an easy bump to make.  It wasn't enough of a factor alone at that magnitude to shift the total graph, but I'll be curious to see if I notice any stronger correlations now that I'm watching for it.

stumbled on this in comments of the Browns' Monken interview:

"The Browns need the whole draft to focus on the offensive line. Yes, The entire draft. Both First Round Picks, all of the second-round picks, all of the third-round picks, every pick. Browns have had the worst offensive line for the last decade. I don't care who's made the pro bowl, who's made the hall of fame, who's been elected King, they all stink. Can't pass block, can't run block. Shedeur Sanders sacked six times on five pass attempts. Quinshon Judkins, Nick Chubb, broken legs because no one can run block. YOU NEED THE WHOLE ENTIRE DRAFT SPENT ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE"

8 p.m. 7 Green Bay Packers at 2 Chicago Bears (Prime Video) - this would be a good game to drink to!!  i'll pick the Bears, but not with a ton of confidence

Sunday, Jan. 11

1 p.m. 6 Buffalo Bills at 3 Jacksonville Jaguars (CBS, Paramount+) - This game should be the game of the week;  I'll take Jags in a shootout.  

4:30 p.m. 6 San Francisco 49ers at 3 Philadelphia Eagles (FOX, FOX Deportes) - I'll be cheering for the niners, but 4real they too beat up.  money's on Eagles.

8 p.m. 7 Los Angeles Chargers at 2 New England Patriots (NBC, Peacock, Universo) - i'll take this as the designated trap game.  Chargers grind out an ugly win.

Monday, Jan. 12

8 p.m. 5 Houston Texans at 4 Pittsburgh (ESPN/ABC/ESPN+/ ESPN Deportes; ManningCast-ESPN2/ESPN+) - Houston.  but also not with a ton of confidence.  what happens when two smuggling defenses have punt wars maybe.
